Nice Cobia Zach.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2009 "ONLY REPORTS"
I went today from 10 to 5. No fishes. Just one lizardfish on the bottom, woo. Me and my two friends caught a bunch of sardines. A couple people snagged gogs. I didn't see one fish besides a couple blue runners come up for the whole day. Where did all the fish go???

Fishing this time of the year is unpredictable - Took a walk at lunch I got squat - Heard there were big jacks in the sunrise hour - then slow rest of the day.

Relax and save your money and prepare your tackle March is right around the corner and the fishing will be incredible.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Re: Deerfield Pier Fishing Reports 2009 "ONLY REPORTS"
Took my girls out with some live shrimp Sunday - also 3 or my wifes classmates and their kids as well....The kids had a blast reeling in lizardfish after lizardfish - Used all 3 doz shrimp to the last one, then started getting them on the gotcha - All on the reefedge, N side - though the current did trickle weakly South.
NONE of these folks, parents included ever fished a day before, so I really had my work cut out. A task I took on happily.
After getting a few Wally world poles rigged up, which was more than enough to handle the killer lizards - We were off to thge races....We covered the basic fishfinder rig - How to hook a live shrimp in the proper place ( these folks all being DR's in their own countries got that part down on the first try...
All in all the kids had a blast chasing each other down the pier, scooping shrimp from the bucket when called on to do so, and reeling in a few Lizardfish.
Hung a chumbag to try to inspire a bite and really could not get much goin ( what a suprise...lol ) We did get some interest from ballyhoo, sardines, gogs and chubs, which in turn brough some snaggers down from the T - all in all not too bad, as our "camp" was pretty well respected....However - we did gain the interest of quite a few Calimari in the process which made for some fun sightfishing /sightsnagging.
It was SO SLOW on the pier each lizardfish drew a crowd..haha....SO when someone asked" what kind of fish was that?", I was so proud of my 3 yr old Isabella, who proudly proclaimed, " It is a LIZARDFISH !!!" She even identified the Calimari as a "CUTTLEFISH !!!"to everyones amazement...lol
I had not the heart to correct her on the pier, but was proud of how she remembered the fish's names from the books we read at night.
Topped the day off with a few libations for the adults and chic fingers and ribs platters for the nino's at Flanigans - Then some Ben and Jerry's....
Had more fun today that on days I have limited out to be honest !!!
We are getting the kids comfy W the pier, the bait, the casting ( well some of them ) in order for the spring - summer fling around the corner....Woo Hoo..
All in all, I was a tad bummed I did not have the opportunity to smoke a lamb leg this weekend, and the BBQ at Flanigan's just does not compare to the real deal - but plenty of time for that later - It was a day well spent with our family

I got there at 4pm and wasnt much for bait, probably cuz everybody was snagging them. There appeared to be cigar minnows and some gogs.
