Is this the follow up thread from Sebastian Inlet? I'm been keeping tabs of the weather conditions and it seems the waves will be breaking over the jetty up there. So then I learned of a meeting at Anglins. I'd love to attend but I need a time frame. I'm trying to decide whether to bring the wife or not.

Let me know

Me either....but as those of you that have wives know, their arms ( voices) can at times, reach over extroadinary distances....hahahahaRijkaard wrote:I'll be there (with no wife)
As far as bait goes, there are no live shrimp available at angins now- Tanks are under repair, but fffff-rozen is available.
Not sure what is running in the ocean there, as I have not fished there in a while -hopefully we can attract some ballyhoo...
You may bring all the snacks you like, Mikey ! I will have a small pot of expresso, and will share provided Riccardo let's you close to it... Just kidding of course.

Ya, its really ripping out there. Im by Cookin' in Boca and I almost got knocked over by a gust walking back from lunch. I heard the storm isnt actually arriving until Thurs-Fri. Any truth to that?
I hope the Roofer and BF can make it out there. I want to hear more about the new shop. Might have to head up to Juno soon and check it out.
Im really hoping to learn some more about the pier being out there with you guys.
I have a few questions and I guess I need to take a trip to BPS Fri. to get some additional supplies:
Whats the sabiki of choice? Green Red 3 or 4? Floats and gold hooks for hoos? Has the bait been around?
I also need to get a down bucket to hold bait. My last one broke. Guess Ill take care of that Friday also.
What size hook is appropriate for the larger snapper out there? How heavy a leader?
Banks or Pyramids for the pier? I know there are rocks out there but obviously it needs to hold.
Where can I get some good cut bait, otherwise Im coming unarmed and I hate doing that. If its not too bad, Ill try and get some bluefish, runners, etc at DFP tomorrow thursday.
Anyway you can help is appreciated. If I think of anything else, Ill ask.

- sabiki rigs - hayabusa is my best choice, 3 or 4 in green or red, but I haven't seen many pilchards or sardines around, anyway it's good to catch small runners, sand perch and grunts to use live or fresh cut if tipped with shrimp or squid, bigger size sabiki is good for gogs (I mean 7-8), but also a small circle will work for them, just freeline
- for ballyhoos I use a floater with a small golden hook tipped with something (shrimps, squids, small fish bites), sometimes you get houndies, but it's the easiest way to catch hoos if you don't want your sabiki tangled all the way, some potato chips or bread crumbs will help to make them thick
- for snappers use 1/0 to 3/0 circles for grovers and muttons, 40-50# leader and 4-6 oz bank sinkers to hold the rocky bottom east of the middle hut or out at the t, if you fish west of the middle hut it's all sand, 4-6 oz pyramids should be enough unless wind is not picking over 25 mph
- for cobias or permits use 6/0 circles with runner heads or whole crabs, I have some frozen crabs we can use to give a shot at big fishes
Great Advise Ric

Thanks Ricky. It all starts in theory. I can talk a good game but making it all work, thats another story.
As for the gear, I have most of that stuff except the biki and some other artis I want. Thanks for the offer on bait... I may need it. Hopefully we can get some hoos and use that for some grovers and other snapper out there. I got a good tip for permits from someone we all know last time I was out there, so maybe we can try that out if I remember everything he told me.
If I think of anything else, ill put another post.

I will try to make it out there (edit) or deerfield somtime in the morning. Btw, there was not a single bait to be caught on sabikis last sunday so frozen bait may be nessesary. I will have a supply of bobbers and little gold hooks for the hoos. Where on the pier are you guys gonna fish?

Great news J.james380 wrote:It's no longer 50/50. I'll be there sometime around 4. Could be earlier depending on how the night goes.
Any chance you will pass an open Baitstore before arrival?

I just called ALL BROWARD PIERS and nobnody has live shrimp....
If so, I could use a couple dozen and would happily reimburse you at Anglins.

Anthony sorry I missed the post before I came down. Denny and I had done some searching up here and there were no shrimp to be had up here either.
Ricky it was good to see you again too. I think next time we come down he'll be handling his own after Chris gave him the your not a fisherman unless you do this this and this riot act.

LOL I hear ya. He casts for himself when fishing freshwater. I cast saltwater because I want it in a certain place/distance. He loved hanging out with you. By the end of the day he was calling you uncle Chris.
