Hutchinson Island sucked today (Friday). Huge waves crashing into the beach making fishing a non event. Couldn't really even see mullet pods.
So I moved north. Hundreds of small pods on the Inter coastal side but I didn't really see them being busted up. Drove all the way to Fort Pierce inlet and talked with a regular that was leaving. He said there was no bait and no fish today but Tuesday had lots of bait, blues and macks.

I didn't even get out of the car and go see for myself as this guy knew what he was talking about.

Bummer day.

Bob

I saw em at first light, there were a couple tarpon feeding, but only for 5 minutes. After that, no action on em from 7-9am when I left.

They were around the whole day, but didn't see anything on them. They were also pretty far out. I'll be fishing a lot next week.

Our boat caught a couple tarpon on em at the tip of the north jetty around 4.

Live update!!

Fished the surf around Juno beach pier. Mullet were everywhere, mostly fingers. Almost every cast produced a bluefish. Some nice ones in the mix too.

Got a snook early in the morning but he spit the lure after a good 5 min fight. I'll be back out in the evening. Bite slowed down a lot around 9am. Looked like the mullet were getting blown up further down the pier still but not in my range so I called it a good morning and went home.

just a couple small pods on N Boca beach at sunrise this morning... nothing hittin them hard, but some 20" jacks swooped down the beach at sunrise, and there was 1 spinner jumping about 100yds off the sand. It was apparently on fire yesterday morning but I missed it. :-(

Passed by deering estate area today while doing a little snook fishing saw a pod of mullet 100-200 deep that eventually moved south. Nothing on it but small cudas. Did manage to hook a juvie snook in freshwater side of snapper creek but he spit the hook on a neck breaking turn.

Was on boat yesterday. Pods north and south of port. Crew caught blacktip, mutton, needlefish, blue runner, jack. No tarpon or snook

Pods were out in 300ft of water- with nothing on them.

Driving north today

Boca Raton: plenty of finger mullet around. 18" jacks pushed them up on shore at sunrise in a slaughter (landed 2 tough fighters). Then no bites... no pods. But an AWESOME sunrise!

Waves crashing in at Stuart beaches....Did not really see any mullet. Drove up a1a stopping at several beach accesses....same sad story. On the ICW side, there were tons of finger mullet moving south. Wound up at Ft. Pierce Inlet....nada there except for sweltering heat and no see ems. Not a good day north of you all in Juno.

Fished in palm beach county. Pod after pod after pod. Bluefish up to 20 inches. lady fish, jack, few numbers of snook tarpon and shark. Got some nice videos and pics. Finger mullet. Left because we were tired of catching fish. Sunrise til 9:30am by far the best action.

Any beach in Brevard county loaded with mullet but too far to reach from shore. Saw some blues and a couple tarpon throughout the day. 100-200 yards offshore.

Took a walk on Anglins to check out the lunar event. Not much current and only saw 4 mullet with a few small schools of sardnes cruising around.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Passed by Dania this past Saturay the 26th around 1-3pm. Lots of mullet pods, I didn't get on the pier but from the beach you could see them as far out as several hundred yards and as close as 10ft from the beach. I didn't make out what were slammin them but they were getting hit hard and often. I saw what I think was a shark breaching and crashing down in like a 10th of a second and I got the heck out of the water. Spoke to some kayakers that were in the pods as they were getting crushed and they seemed to have been describing tarpon, macs and sharks. Hope this helps.
I love it when this reel sings.
