dude.. definitely not cool!!.. i was once fishing at a pier and a group of people were taking a photo.. one guy grabs my pole and started acting like he was catching something for the pic... i chewed him a new one and consequently ruined their photo.. some people are just clueless

had an incredibly rude guy do this to me at pompano pier, guy comes out, sets up next to me but i was there way before him, then he has the nerve to tell me my line is in the way that i have to move it or else he will cut the line! what a douche!! I told him I was there first and he cursed me out saying he is much better than me at fishing which was funny cause he came out with the wal-mart combo and looked like he had no clue how to fish, he left immediately after he saw me catching way more fish than him.

You should have made a point of casting over his lines. Not to long ago. There was 4 of us fishing a spot on the channel 5 bridge. No one was catching a thing then after about 20 minutes we started catching a fish on every cast. No one else was catching anything. The woman next to me kept moving closer and closer but still couldn't get a hook up. She then just started throwing over our lines to hit the spot. I said something to her and she pretended not to know any English. When that didn't work I started cutting her line. I made sure she saw me doing it. Can you believe she just kept tying on and casting in our direction.

Lol. I had the same thing happen to me at Ch 5 one night...I was catching grovers on a piling and a lady moved right next to me and fishing it, which was bad enough...but then she wouldn't keep her line tight and her slack was billowing 20 feet down the bridge and she put the rod down not watching it. I had a shark rod out, it got nailed and got her slack line, took it over the bridge.

Oh man, I am an extremely patient fisherman, and I am literally one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, one of my friends called me the Gandhi of San Marcos. When it comes to fishing though, there are two things that drive me crazy; people who fish between your stuff when there is so much space, and people who cannot cast. Last time me and my brother were on Bob Hall Pier I caught a kingfish and some dude immediately moved to fish in that spot, which happened to be between our shark rigs. And in my head I was like "people are catching King's all over this pier, my spot is not special in any way." I especially hate when people start casting over our shark rigs. Those things are kayaked out hundreds of yards, so unless we kayaked at a bad angle we're not reeling it in. A buddy of our's lost a huge 8ft+ shark because somebody wouldn't reel in their casted rig and the braid cut through it.
On multiple cases we have been on the beach and there has been an entire stretch of beach, yet someone get's ticked because they parked right next to the FISHERMEN and get mad when their kids keep running into our line. I'm too nice, because I'll reel in my casted stuff, but my brother made a point to her that we'd been in the same spot overnight and she shouldn't be next to people fishing with miles of uninhabited beach.
And lastly, people who can't cast, man, I can't even begin to talk about how much that pisses me off

When I fish between people it's because it is too crowded, and I'm not worried about it because I 99% of the time I cast in a straight line, I pride myself in how well I know how to cast consistently, and if it's way too crowded I'll cast short so I don't get tangled. Logic.
Haha okay rant over, but I feel everyone's pain.

last time i was at anglins
i found my braid cut i thought i have done something wrong but then later i realised there was a young guy running and throwing a jig all over the place and trust me he was in a hurry
then he somehow manga to get my line that was there for over half hour instead of trying to untangle he just took out a nail clipper and cut my line again he realized that i was looking at him and i told him next time i will give him 2 choises go over legs first or go over head first
i wanted to go see tommy but i let it go because for the time being i only come down from canada couple weeks each time
im 60 years old but poop like this i cannot take
what you guys think ?

yep, people will do ANYTHING to get their lines stretched! LOL...i was at anglins a few years back and landed a very nice spanish mack (around 6 lbs) and as i went to put him in the cooler, i had, 2,468 people fishing directly where i landed him! im exaggerating, but there were like 4 guys right in vicinity of where i was fishing....REALLY???..btw, the pier was empty....classic i must say! LOL......i decided to stay quiet since i dont know how to talk to people when they do stupid sh*t! guess im used to the far worse idiots at haulover during the pompano and permit runs! hehehehehe

i dont understand it either, but certain people must feel like they're being left out of the action...i truly believe that if the mack or pompano run is in full effect and i know the pier will be packed, i WILL MAKE SURE IM THERE EARLIER THAN USUAL TO GET A PRIME SPOT!!! if im there too late, then i wont bother making others uncomfortable...but thats just me...if i cant fit, then i'll go elsewhere!(its hard to fish shoulder to shoulder and casting arti's with the wind blowing) pompano run depends on location...up north they get an early run of southbound fish (typically during nov-jan. and then back in the spring-northbound fish) and for the region i fish (haulover) its mostly in the spring, with few fish passing thru during the fall, but not much. permit are around during the early summer-early fall, then they disappear...some fish will mix in with the pompano during the spring pompano run....
