I've been trying haulover the past few weeks with little success....new to fishing in general but learning alot pretty fast.I've never tried to catch bait off a pier before.

i know this is a total goog question but w/e....do you catch bait on the pier alond the pylons with a sabiki? or on the beach? i have a cast net i've gotten good at throwing..especially from elevation.

any tips guys? I'll probably go out on Wednesday..got the day off work for my birthday!

i wanna try the piers a bit more since i'm pretty sick of losing lead and having to deal with that ripping current

Sabiki and cast net work fine. You're not allowed to use cast nets off the pier so if you can cast net some bait from the beach you'll save yourself a lot of time instead of using a sabiki

I was at Dania Pier on Sunday just strolling the pier not much was going on. Of the 6 times I've been there I have not caught anything. I mostly used squid, I was thinking of trying a Got-Cha lure, live shrimp, and/or live bait. Just to clarify on FWC it states that Snappers are off limits, as it's not in season at the moment? I wasn't even aware that snappers were on this restriction. Also I am mostly targeting mackerel, snapper (in season), and any other nice size fish 10lb and up. Thanks guys!
