Dania Pier Fishing Reports 2012 "ONLY REPORTS"

Hit the pier around 630am and stayed until 10. Winds were calm, the waves weren't breaking. If I had a kayak, I'd probably have taken it out there considering how calm it was. Still, all I saw was bait fish and a couple needlefish or small cuda. Only snook was way by the entrance to the pier. I didn't see anyone catching anything while I was there.

Went solo from 6pm til 815, casting a gotcha. Hooked a small mack, but he came off right under the pier. Saw a dude land one on a crappie jig. Wasn't much action besides that.

Interesting Goog report, though. Some guy had a spinner and a boat rod fishing on the bottom. He would pull the line in with his hands, re-bait it, and then toss it out again with his hands. I could understand the conventional, but not understanding the concept of reeling in/casting with a spinner is beyond me.

Saw 3 jacks,a pomp, a nice cuda come over. Guy had a nice tarpon on but lost on the third jump.

Decided to hit the beach for a few mins and on the first cast hooked into my first tarpon. I was using the banana looking jig with he pink teaser of all things. There were two of them about 100lbs or so in just a few ft of water. Once he realized he wad hooked it took off. I yelled for the people to get out of the way so the braid didn't cut em.

It was about 100 yards into a run and about to drag my like through some swimmers so I out a little tension on the spool. A few seconds later my leader snapped.

First tarpon I ever had on. Pretty awesome fish. No further luck

Passed By the pier today lots of wind there was bait but very hard to come by you had to work for them. All I cought was a Small red grouper like 16 inches, saw a guy catch a blue fish nothing to get exited about besides that a very slow day Good night guys.

headed out there yesterday from 5:30PM-8:30PM. When I arrived, only saw 1 mack caught on the gotcha as we were walking down to the end, my friend and I began to catch bait, had a few spanish sardines in the mix. After grabbing a good handful for us, we headed back to where we set up, tossed out and nothing for about 30minutes. It was dead quiet some good winds coming in. Then all of a sudden, i see the pompano crew's rods begin going off, they had a small school out there and they were catching some pomps. about 10minutes after that, our rods start going off but we lose it. so i throw my lures out and macks are hitting. lost a few but hooked a few as well. overall, we ended up with bluefish, macks and a pomp (a pompano that hit the gotcha). it wasn't a huge thing, but catching something is better than nothing.

I heard me and my friends caught 400 out there. Funny thing is,.. i haven't been fishing there in days. I hear the vietnamese got into a fight 2 different evenings this week, once with a knife pulled out. Good to see things are running smoothly out there now.

if you wanted a relaxing day out on the pier, this was it... nothing out there, some bait here and there, i did manage a nice gog and had it out and got hit hard within 10minutes but didn't hook up. D-E-A-D dead

Hey guys what's up this report is for 04/26 had not passed by dania because there was no bait, desided to check it out for a couple of hrs, Lucky me there was bait I set my stuf up put first bait on my hook and it gets hit I got me a 30" snook/robalo. Good luck guys.

The T can get stupid with all the BS Meeejami crowd causing a mess, but the rest of the pier has become for the most part a desert.

fished today, the afternoon caught 2 good sized macks of crappys, bait everywhere, when i got there the kids told me there was 3 kings hooked today and all lost when i tried to confirm it no one on the T spoke english so you know how that goes lol
