what to do while you wait

when i have the balloons out or im going for stingrays i am constantly trying to do things to keep myself from getting bored.

rubix cubes are not for everyone, but they're not bad if they dont irritate you like they seem to me. i do enjoy trinket puzzels.
lately i've been trying to write and record my thoughts roughly so to pick, choose and reitterate later if i like what i write, whether that be a logging of my shark/ray activity or trying to understand a concept of something in general, or just writing a story.
there is also drawing.
cooking, if you bring a hotplate is definitely an enjoyable way to exercise your free hours, while you catch lesser fish.
sometimes i read while im studying for things.
a tarpolan at a jetty can enable you to do things the wind would otherwise prevent you from.

so what do other people do while they wait i wonder?
we're talking 3-8hr periods.

Havent gone shark fishing but while I have my rod in the holder, im usually getting my wife un snagged and re doing her rig lol. so bring your wife it will give you plenty to do.

It is not my team. Another member on the team who don't do drug either. Why do I care? They are adults and know the risk on doing drugs. What would happen if one of our team member got hurt or fell over? How much help are they? Please don't lecture me about protect people who smoke. F*** them and if you smoke F*** you too.

Maybe you need to know which people who help contribute both wins for the team before you make that comment.

But a lot of people drink while they fish, and in my opinion, alcohol is a worse drug, just more socially acceptable because it happens to be legal. You don't hear about "stoners" beating their wives after a hard day of smoking or starting bar fights after they've had one joint too many.

But anyways, as for what to do when you are waiting...FISH!!

I like to have atleast 2 big rods out, and while I wait for the clickers to go off, I will fish with my spinning gear for snook, or continue to catch more bait for sharks, tarpon, or whatever big fish are biting that day. I'm usually busy non-stop when I'm fishing. I'm always either cast netting pilchards, catching ladyfish and jacks for bait, fishing for snook, swimming baits out, and hopefully battling it out with something ripping off 20 lbs of drag like nothing before I go home. 5-6 hours can go by before you realize it.

At the moment he cannot currently post to describe the guilt that he has faced. I am contemplating removing the pre ban status so he can do a follow up post if he chooses.

I drink beer and BS with my fishing buddy. If I'm by myself I drink beer and BS with myself. Oh I fish with smaller outfits too so I'm always checking them resetting them or reeling fish in on them.

i did some crabbing last night from the jetty, got like 18 big blue swimmers. a couple people we knew rocked up and they kept inviting more until there were like over 10 people, only the original two of us had crab nets/balloons out. big stingrays kept trying to take off with my hoop nets, jetty kept going thud thud at the ropes, and the bait got ripped out of like 2 nets.

it might be an idea to train up a gaff ninja or two in the meantime, let them practice on the rays since they end up hanging around for the hours.

YUP! fish them smaller rigs while you wait..my fishing partner likes to hang around and make friends with the older people who up live in the condos on the beach, that way we get access to FREE parking closer to where we like to set up shop.
