Went out for a while last night with the net looking for mullet. Had the usual tourist/googans out at the end. I was about half way out between 2 lights in the shadows. The manta ray mating ritual was going on with groups of 20 and more chasing each other around in 2-4 ft of water.
With the full moon you could see really well. All I could see was no mullet coming through. One young boy kept coming by shinning a light at everything.
Finally moved in closer and found a few fish that looked like whiting. Threw the net and it was lizard fish. Had to cut their heads off to get them out of the net. Fed the crabs with them.
Wasn't ready when the largest school came by. Tried a couple more casts and then left without any keepers. Grandson was starting to get fussy causing wife to get fussy.
Was enjoying the 8 ft long benches and thinking how nice they would work on some keys bridges.

For anyone interested I have heard the pompano are showing up. Fish the pier or off the beach at the west end where there is less swimmers

They will be gone but the flounder are coming on strong right now. Do you know where deep water point is? Or you could try the kiddie pool.
