west coast fl shark trip

hey im going shark fishing friday or saturday in the naples, ft. myers area. if anybody knows any decent spots where ill be able to park and fish all night? i would greatly appreciate it. if you're from there you can come out and fish with us. i already have bait set up.

try the beaches near the passes, or the naples pier..you can fish all night at the pier but i'm not sure about the parking situation..marco island is good too

I was just saying, you can fish 24 hours there at the naples pier..How do they enforce things like that? Like if you hook into something and it peels off 100 yards of line and think its a shark are you supposed to cut it off? LOL...anyway its not like people can help it if sharks are taking their baits, they could be trying to catch anything. I'm not talking about going down there and chumming up clouds of blood trying to lure sharks in I would never do that in areas close to where people swim frequently, but people do catch sharks without fishing for them. I hear about people catching nice tarpon down there and you can catch both with the same baiting methods. Whenever anyone asks me what I'm fishing for on the beach i say tarpon and I am but end up hooking into sharks as well especially of late. I think chum free shark fishing should be fine..the sharks are around no matter what anyway to feed on the bait fish schools..and when people go swimming at the beach they are trespassing into the sharks habitat..thats why there are swimming pools.

If you hook a shark and get it to the pier you are suposed to cut your line they have rangers that patrol the pier around the clock that is why I dont fish there, its a great place to fish but I dont agree with the rules there.

I don't go to the pier either, I usually stay away from piers in general because nowadays they all have a laundry list of rules to keep people from catching big fish, lol...but the whole beach inbetween the pier and doctors pass has very good action.
