If the bait takes as long to get here as it did last year then summer fishing is a looooooong ways away.

There were some macks and bluefish at the pier this evening. Also got one Tip while I was there. The pier closes at 6:20 now so I only get an hour after work.

Reports are saying bait is up north (sebastian area I believe). Hopefully coming our way sooner rather than later.

went out 3/15 and was pretty dead all day, some people catching croakers near shore, one guy hooked a shark that gave a nice 20 minute fight before breaking his line. I got a Cuda just as i was leaving on squid.

Fished this morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saw about a dozen pompano caught. Mostly on jigs. Then the bluefish moved in. It was pretty much a free for all. Not that they are great eating or anything but they are fun to catch when nothing else is going on.
Every 15 or 20 minutes a huge school would move in and just about everyone would get hooked up.
You pretty much could catch as much as you wanted or needed.
Did see a few schools of baitfish swim by every once in awhile but that was it.
Did hear that the pompano bit a little better and later yesturday morning alone with several bluefish up to 18lbs. Now those big blues will kick anybody's butt.

On another note the pompano fishing down at Anglins this morning was off the chain. Just about everyone had there limit before 8:00 a.m. I went north instead of south, but a couple of friends that did go south to Anglins gave me the "true reliable" report.

Good luck to all.

I got my first keeper snook of year caught on the pier tuesday evening. A nice 31 1/2 snook and real fat. I got a couple of pomps each morning this week including this morning but that bite ends early. I have been doing pretty well on stocking up the bluefish this week for the up coming tourney.

No, you have to get real creative to catch the snook right now without bait around. There has been croakers and whiting there for bait but no summer bait.

I caught a couple Pomps today, a few bluefish and an over slot snook. The bluefish werent thick today like they have been just two or three small schools all day. The pompano were real hit or miss and you had to work hard for them, harder then I am willing to.

Totally unfishable today. Unfortunatly we dont have the reefs to protect us like the piers down south. Too rough and too much current.

There was a handful of pompano caught this morning, but there was a lot of people fishing for them. The real catch of the day was the 25-30pd Cobia that Dave got. I called first shot and got a good shot on the bigger fish of the two but he didnt want my jig. Dave got the 2nd fish and I gaffed it for him, the school popped up again 20 minutes later but wouldnt touch a jig. A really nice fish, at least I got a nice dinner out of it.

i wish the people at deerfield had as much class as juno. 2 about 30lb cobes were hanging around sunday afternoon but nobody that could actually land them had a shot to hook them because of all the kooks throwing gotchas and 1 inch grunts on wallmart rods at them everytime they came up. its not like if anyof us hooked one we would have a shot anyway with the web of trolly lines all over the place.

extremely green 30lb cobe pretty much straight up and down + millions of slack lines + kooks and sightseeers crowding the rail = no cobe.

Landed 6 Bluefish this morning not one was below 10pds. They were the monster spring bluefish. By the mid day they gone and I doubt there will be anymore this year. After work I landed one snook at 27 1/2, by fall he will make a nice meal.
