shark rod pref question
I just bought a 5'9 tsunami stand up rod to go with my 9/0. I was just wondering if you guys prefer using roller tips or not.

I prefer roller tips, just make sure you get one big enough that the knot from your wind-on leader or any other splices will fit through it without snagging.

Roller guides help reduces friction from the mono or braid. PhishinPhantic is correct, make sure you have large guides or when the shark surge the knot will rip the guides off the rod. I have caught large sharks without roller guide too. If your rod does not have it don't worry about it.

no the one i got has roller tips i figured itd be better. im just new to fishing for sharks with conventionals. ive always used spinners.
