Yes you can be arrested Cruelty to animals florida state statute 828.12 1st degree misdemeanor BUT if death or excessive pain or torture ocurres 3rd degree felony. I am reading it now and seems pretty vague as far as the mis. and felony charge and is open to interpretation by the officer as far as the charge. If it is me that catches you plan on the coughing up the felony bail for your "buddy." Oh by the way fine of up to $10,000 for the felony charge if found guilty as well as jail time. Statute just states animals so ducks would be on the list. I have no use for someone who would hurt a defenseless animal and by the way cookinman made a great point, I would heed it.
