Nick told me that Roy got a Permit in the afternoon and they got a keeper Cobe and a short. Thats pretty slow for a whole days worth of fishing.

Last week at one point there was 5 or 6 caught in two days but there hasnt been one since. They were all shorts or barely keepers.

Lake Worth is seeing more Cobia then we are. They caught two Monday and saw two nice fish yesterday morning.

Hence the reason everyone and their brother has a cobe jig at the ready. I don't have enough rods to have one sitting there in wait. :nilly:

Its is simple JAMES use the 6500 Baitrunner to catch bluerunners or have it rigged for the cobia of a lifetime. That many people doing it there alone should tell you that it is worth the effort and wait. One 40 lb cobia will make it worth it.

This is true. Guess I need to pick up a couple Cobia jigs. What the typical leader used for em?

50 -60 lb mono should cover you 3 - 5 ft. of it.

Have a good pair of sunglasses and when you spot a cobia call it thus by pier ''law'' you get first shot at a cast on it before the rest of the pier throws a ton of lead at it. With your extra height you have an advantage over most others not on step ladders there.

lol the sunglasses are what i'm lacking.. That's my next purchase. Probably a b-day present to myself. Thanks for the pier rule though. From what i've read you more or less just put it right in front of them? Not the brightest fish right?

They can be very dumb or very smart . Hit a plastic cup that blows off the pier or turndown live bait and lures to numerous to count.

After hitting the inlet (Byntn)... I decided to take a "look" for the first time at LW Pier... nice pier.. .walked to the end, on a weekday - to find it pretty crowded... the end of the pier looked like a spider with like 16 rods laying on the rails... Remember that thread i created a while back "how do you guys do it"... .... well, I don't know how u guys do it... I respect it, just not my cup of tea.....As for "ocean" fishing, I will leave my feet in the sand..

The pier just open so give it time. It will then out after a few months or after they slaughter all the fish.

went today from open till about 3. spotted one cobe about 30 that wouldnt eat anything. some guy also spotted a 20-25lb permit cruising on top from the surf down and around the end and then into deeper water. same guy tried to cast a bottom rig with a crab to it and hit a lady in the face with a bank and it left a huge welt and a small cut. no fish other than 2 remoras some runners and 2 grovers while i was there. nice pier though.

I took one look at the pier and I got a nose bleed, think I'll take a pass, I still love that beach for snook and jacks.

It's the same height as Juno. They figured sinse juno made it thru the storms it wouldn't hurt yo set LW to the same specs.
