yea. he was gunna fish it but he saw me coming and he knew i would have a bf if he got a cobe on my rod

I sat on the beach with wife and daughters ( Wishing I was fishing...) watching bait get SHOWERED all through the trough....someone tell me some good news other than that saifish that was caught and released today....which BTW - nice CATCH !!

Mackeral Annie had a little sail on 2lb test several years ago at Anglins. She got it on one of her own hand-ties purple jigs that look an aweful lot like the "crappie jigs" guys are using today It was cool to see. That "OLD LADY" taught a lot of guys how to fish. May she RIP!!!

Way to go on the sailfish. I know quite a few guys that have boats, who have yet to catch one.

Sails have to be 63" from the tip of the lower jaw to the fork of the tail. From looking at that one, I'd guess it was short, but thats just a guess. You also have to report all sails that you keep to NOAA within 24 hours. Most people release them, some will keep a gut hooked one for the smoker, and I have heard they are quite good smoked.

he is short from what i see and also they usually die once they are handled and turn that dark bronze color they swimm off but usually just sink and die shortly after

You can also take a pale person from Canada that hasn't seen light in 7 years, take a picture with the sun at their backs and they'll be darker than a grizzly bear... ESPECIALLY on a camera phone.

The fish was released. Cody's my friend and I know he wouldn't want to kill the sail...

I can assure you that the fish was fought, netted, photographed and released as quickly as possible.... now whether the fish makes it or not depends on the fish from that point on..... yes some of what we catch and release don't make it....but most do, and that is all we can do is try our best....unless we just quit fishing

I am new here but Cody did a great job with that fish and should be very proud of his catch.
