I was able to fish the Juno pier again tonight (Wednesday) from 7:00 - 9:30. Caught two bluefish on frozen finger mullet within 15 minutes of arriving. Gave them to some guys that needed bait for shark fishing. It slowed for a bit but then a few more bluefish were caught but only one other person was really fishing for them.

I missed a few more but I think it was because I didn't have any beads between the hook and the small styrofoam floats I was using to keep the bait off the bottom and away from the crabs. Looked like the bluefish were getting their jaws on the floats and it kept the hook from setting. A couple other guys were fishing with squid and they caught 8 or more runners, a bone fish and some spots.

One guy shark fishing had a good run but missed it. I was too lazy to rig up for them tonight.

Fished the Juno pier tonight (Thursday 1/29) and I did not see a single fish caught. I was the only one fishing on the T. I gave a person leaving a couple $ for two mackerel caught earlier in the day. Put one out on the bottom and crabs got to it. Sent the second one out on a balloon for an hour and nothing.

Had another rod out with a finger mullet on it for two hours and still had the whole bait on when I reeled it in.

Strange night.

Fished the pier last night (tuesday 2-10) from 7pm to 12am, saw a guy pull up blue runner after blue runner and barracudas on live shrimp at the T when we first got there. some guys on the south side of the T caught 4 really good size bluefish on cut finger mullet. We started fishing that side after they left using some meat off the carcass they gave us and caught 2 blues about 18". It was a decent night for a change, wind was a little strong but wasnt to bad.

Yes, the pomp bite was at 3:30 in the morning. Besides me and my girlfriend, there was about 8 others fishing during the day.......nobody had even a nibble. The water was a little rough and murky......I am thinking about trying again later today.....not sure though.

Nice catch. :thumright: Are you sure it wasn't a Permit?

Fished Juno pier this evening (2/16) from 7:30 - 8:30. Wind meter in the pier house was reading a steady 30 mph out of the North. One guy fishing the South East corner of the "T" caught a bluefish and a jack while I was there. I fished 20 minutes with finger mullet along the side closer to the beach but no hits. Too much wind to hang out.

Took a walk out on the pier last night (Tuesday 17th) with my 8 year old son. Lot's of guys shark fishing. Saw one BT caught, several other runs and one guy had a big one on. It was running straight out like the Hammers I have caught out there the previous weeks. This one appeared to be big and was stripping him off until it straightened the hook. Was a great fight for awhile. My son had a great story to tell his friends today. We left around 9:30 but the action was still going on.

There has been a lot of Tips off the pier the last two days. The school moved off this afternoon about 4 o'clock. It was real hot yesterday and this morning but nothing this evening. Not much other then the Tips, a Pomp here and there but nothing consistant.

Thanks for the report JunoChris. I walked out last night around 9:00 and stayed for about 1/2 hour (Got home too late from work to load up the fishing gear to fish last couple nights) and it was pretty quiet. Saw a jack caught and a few runs they missed.

The macks moved in for a little while today but hit or miss. No sharks this afternoon and I would have thought they would be there. The water looked perfect for Tips, the wind is supposed to stay strong so they might show up tomorrow.
