Is a dent in foam grip fixable ?

Title says it all. Looking at buying a rod with a nasty dent in the foam. Is this fixable ? I know shrink wrap will work but can you fix it other ways ?

I got a few dents out with steam. You can hold it over a pot of boiling water. Rub the dented area back and forth with your hand.
