Would this be an upgrade?

I have a Shimano Sahara 3500 spinning reel. Would it bee and upgrade to go for a Lew's SS300?

I currently have the Sahara on a Berke Lighting Rod M?

Would I be better of just upgrading the rod??? And what rod should I get?

I'm assuming this is for bass fishing. Either way that reel is good enough. I'd look at the rod. Depends on your budget as to what you get. Also depends on what type of lures you are using mostly as to what specific rod you will want. Gonna need more info but if you had to upgrade the rod would be where I would start.

Thanks that's what I was thinking. I want to go up to 7' MH. I mainly fish Senkos, Horny Toads, top water frogs, and occasionally Rat L Traps, and spooks.

Would the Abu Garcia Veritas be a big upgrade over the lighting rod?

Is there a better rod for the money than the Abu with those dimensions?

And yes this is for Bass fishing.
