anyone can repair the handle of a daiwa surf rod?

A friend gave me a used daiwa emcast 11.3" heavy action as a gift but somehow the person that was using the rod sawed off about 10" of the butt handle and made the handle shorter making it impossible to cast properly and comfortably ...I.m looking for someone who can repair it for a good price ...someone who you guys can recommend me as a reliable honest person who's also a pro at it.... thank you so much!!...tight lines and fair weather!!

Do yourself a favor, Mud hole or no Mud hole keep the rod and used it for Bull Shark fishing; since it was given to you for free. Sounds like a good idea to me buddy.

the best way to extend it is to have the joint under the reelseat because it is the strongest part, the reel seat encapsulates the joint. to do this, the builder will have to take out the reel seat, find a blank that is bigger than the blank diameter at the reel seat, it will be a female (existing rod) to male (extension) insert to make the joint,less probability of cracking on the old rod than a male to female extension.

different builders different prices, estimate would be $100 +

thanks for the help and pics...nice loomis and snook...will try byscane rod manufacturing since is close by...but now I know what to expect.
