Need serious help from anyone familiar with blanks

Looking for a 7-7'6" blank to build a cobia rod 30-50 line class maximum. Fiberglass preferably. P.S. its going to be a spinning rod with split grips

Is this a cobia rod for boat or pier because most cobia rods are 9 foot in length

The baston swb70h is a good affordable blank and would be good for throwing jigs. Phoenix makes a black diamond hybrid phd760h-b which is an awesome blank but a little expensive

On mudhole there is a series of e-Glass blanks one is 8 foot and is rated 40-60 lbs, its only $40 and i dont know if i trust it.

They are long, heavy duty rods that should be able to sling a jig farther than the last guy could. Oh and the guides are massive wire guides that allow braid to fly freely

being able to sling a jig further than the last guy is a combination of casting technique and guide placement. i've been to peter thain, neil mackellow and tommy farmer casting seminars and i can tell you, attending one of these deistance casting seminars will greatly improve your distance compared to getting a new rod.

massive wire guide is a hindrance to casting distance. go to distance casting tournaments, you'll never see a distance tournament rod that starts with a 40mm and above stripper. that reasoning of a bigger guide allows for less resistance is flawed.
