Stradic CI4 reels...opinions?

Post by PhishingPhanatic »

I want to get a 2nd 2500 or 3000 size spinner for throwing lures on the kayak for snook, reds, trout, etc...anyone have opinions on the Stradic CI4? I have a Sustain 3000FE and love it, but the new Sustains are even more pricey, and I don't want to chance losing a $350 reel off the kayak. Any other reel suggestions in this size in the $150-$200 price point? I know Daiwa makes some decent spinners but I have always fished Shimanos for light gear.

Thanks Pat, but I already have a bunch of 4000 size reels, I'm looking for something smaller, a 4000 is tiring to cast all day IMO. See if Tommy is still collecting them for donations...

I picked up a nib stradic 2500 fi at bigtime b&t a couple of weeks ago, but haven't used it yet.
I am sure you would like the ci, I just couldnt turn down the deal I got on the fi. Sounds like you are fishing for schoolies. Lots of action there.

I just ordered one from Amazon...they had it new for $20 under MSRP, with no tax. I'll test it out next weekend

I been fishing a 3000ci for about 6 months now,,, its a super smooth reel thats very light,,, only down fall is if you drop it hard on concrete or asphalt it will break,,, my buddy broke his that way and it wasnt a long drop,,,, good thing he bought the replacement insurance from bass pro on it.. otherwise I love my ci

I use a 4000 and I love it. Its extremely light and has held up fairly well. Even a 4000 is light enough for all day use on a lighter rod

I use a 4000 and its still light enough to cast with all day as long as you have a light rod to go with it.
