i know a spot by the grove where i go to fish, and i alot times i catch sharks, and one time some dude got mad at me cuz i caught a baby shark and he wanted to cut the fin and i told him NOOOOOOOOO, AND I let the shark go and he started screaming at me... so i went to my car, and i got my baton and i told him to fishing off... i hate ppl that come to this country and all they do is destroy it.

suprised they aren't cheering that on FS...i remebr a couple of years ago whe nthe one memebr on there put a video up of him capping a shark i nthe head and cutting the line, got liek 5 pages of "good job" and way to "thin thier numbers"..i cant talk about it my blood level starts rising when i think of those degenerates

Hate to beak the news to you but American born and raised here do their share as well as those from other countries. The commercial sharkers and mackeral netters up north of us are all third or more generation Florida ''crackers'' . Greed and stupidity doesn't have a Nationality or country.
On this posting the picture sickens me a beautiful creature killed only for its fins such a waste of a resource.

I cant wait till the next shark tourney because it seems like there has been nothing but negative stuff on here lately. At least the tourney's on this site set the example of how hundreds of sharks can be landed and enjoyed as a sport fish and swim away when its over.

As sad as this is, it will not stop and/or be slowed down. Finning is just going to increase, especially when poorer countries start joining the bandwagon, which is happening as we speak. Poor fisherman will turn to shark fins instead of their ordinary targets. The mafias are also moving to fins because there are no police to stop them. They can get just as much or more for the fins as they do for cocaine and heroin, possibly starting a double operation of both (Finning and Drug trafficking). As economies crumple, profits must be made in other places. Tourism attractions in Central and South American, Southeast Asia, Mediterranean, Pacific Islands, etc… are going to get major hits from this economy and will have to seek other sources of income.

After seeing this I decided to do some research to see if anybody offered any kind of reward for info leading to the arrest of shark poachers. So far I haven't found anything in South Florida. However this is an article that I found on the Sea Shepherd web site. The pic's are heart wrenching and graphic. Yea They are known as Eco terrorists in some circles. I like to think of them as aggressively stating there point of view.
