Video 12 ft 6 inch Tiger shark Panhandle beach June -08
Big tiger shark 12 ft 6 inch caught June 29,2008 from a Cape San Blas Florida beach. The Florida panhandle is producing some big sharks lately ,,,,big enough to compete with the east coast and i think 2009 will see even more big sharks caught from that area since there are teams from the Carolina's,Georgia,Louisiana and Texas with plans to fish spring ,summer and fall of 2009.There are so many miles south of the panhandle with practically no one on the beaches for long strethes,,,,,a beach shark fishermans dream.Get ready fellas time to kick it up a notch!!!
Florida land based shark fishing is gonna be on the map in 2009

Its true there is a lot of sharks in the Panhandle at the right time. Cape San Blas though isnt in Pensacola, its a few hours east. That is a nice area with St. George Island and Cape San Blas, its a real nice mix of bays full of oyster bars and white sand beaches. I went to FSU and the fishing from directly south of Tally all the way west to Pensacola is really good. I caught a lot of Bulls and Tips off the beach and oyster bars up there. The really nice beaches are from St. George island west, once you get east of St. George there really isnt many beaches, mostly oyster bars and mud, and the beaches that there are just a little bit of sand on the edge of shallow bays.

Thanks Chris ,,,,,,,,,Keaton beach and Cedar Key come to mind and are on my spring time to fish list. They are around the bend south of the panhandle and not near populated areas.I'll report what i find there.

I went through 15 hole bonita fishing about that time in the same area; and he catches his tiger on a huge treble hook haha. Pretty cool, notice the post about the bolt cutters and keeping the name a secret, um not sure who posted that haha.
