Is there a way to target smaller sharks?

Not a guarentee, but smaller baits are usually not worth a bigun's time. Start with mullet heads, or half a mac or blue. The heads seem to work better for me than the tails. To tell you the truth, 4-6'ers seem easier to catch around this area. I caught a 6.5'er 2 weeks ago that ate an 18" bluefish whole.
