Anyone gonna be out sharking Aug 3 -8 ?

Me and a bud will be down in Islamorada Aug 3-8. Would love to join up with and learn some sharkin' tips from the pros while we're down there.

I won't be down there during the weekday but can offer you tips to help you out. What gear do you have?

Fin-nor 0S95, # braid to be determined, leader rig set up following the instructions blacktip hunter has posted. Also bringing a Baitrunner 6500 to catch bait and have some fun on the bridges. I'll be buying rods upon arrival in the Keys or Lauderdale. I have no idea what will work best and am going to need a little local know-how. We'll be on a charter in KW on the 4th, and probably will rent a boat for a day, but all the vids and pics of you guys and gals gettin' em on the beach looks like a blast. Any tips would be great, thanks Bolo.

Since you do not have a kayak it is recommend fishing of the bridge for sharks. You can catch Cudas in the Keys using Cuda tube lures. Make sure to get the cable version not the single strand wire. The wire kinks easy and when that happens in the garbage it goes. Channel 2, 5, and Long Key are great spot to catch bait and sharks. Since you are using a spinner I recommend using smaller chunks of bait. Easier to deploy the bait. You can let the current take the bait out or use a ballon. If you plan to buy a rod I recommend 8 feet if possible and need a stout rod. Without a good backbone a large shark will work you hard and will be tough to control. If Blacktip show you how to rig then you are set.
