BLACKTIP CHALLENGE Tournament OPEN to ALL Interested Anglers

Tournament NOT Invitational, but OPEN To All:
Many anglers and others have been asking why this tournament was originally being conducted with an 'Invitational' format. Last year, that decision resulted from the practical demands of managing an event. In 2009, the tagging of qualifying fish was introduced as an innovative point requirement. Through a cooperative effort between tournament organizers & producers, The National Marine Fisheries Service and Hall Print Tags, 500 research tracking tags are being provided and allocated to participating anglers. With certain required supplies, including tags and tag applicators being in limited supply, the field of competitors will also be limited to thirty (30), but ANYONE and EVERYONE is invited to participate until those spots are full.

This is simply a logistical consideration, and in no way, a form of preference or favoritism. Tournament organizers have always encouraged any one interested in participating to register. Open spots still remain and everyone is encouraged now, more than ever, to register and take part in this competitive research effort.
