I know this is going to sound confusing, but the 10/0 is a Penn Senator 116A, while the 116L is a 12/0 reel with an alluminum spool vs. the plated brass spool of the 10/0, so be careful. Parts for the 10/0 are available from http://www.pennparts.com among a few other sources. That might not last long, however, since you'll have to rely more and more on fewer sources for parts...which translates to higher prices. The spool is no longer available for the 10/0 from the pennparts source or from Penn. The main gear is interchangeable only with the 12/0 116L. The capacity of the 10/0 reel is 650 yds of 80 lb. mono and 800 yds for the 12/0. The 10/0 weighs, therefore, 15 oz. more than the 12/0. Personally, if you need one that size range, I'd opt for the 9/0, depending on what you are going to use it for. If you are going to use it continuously for shark fishing (the obvious reason), the 9/0 would be much easier to get parts for, cheaper parts, and easier to use, and would do just as good a job as the 10/0. Just my .02, but if it has a good price, and doesn't require any new parts, by all means, go for it. Hope this helps!
No matter where you go, there you are!

As far as size I would go for the 10/0. I have one myself. There is not much of a difference between the 10/0 and the 12/0, but there is a BIG difference between the 9/0 and the 10/0.
