hook removal from bridge or pier

I usually just cut the mono above my rig, but are there any other ways to get your rig back and a hook out of the sharks mouth?
Besides walking it down.

Don't know of any other way. I probably don't have to tell you this, but for anyone who doesn't know, don't use stainless hooks as that they will not disolve in the salt water over time.

Dude if I understand this right: You leave the fish to swim away with a SS hook in it's jaw? That's fu(kin irresponsible. Is there a leader attached too? This is so you can save a few cents per hook? Correct me if I'm misunderstanding, because this just sounds ridiculous.

Yeah, sorry I was so harsh....just got home to the wifes flat tire, and the daughter's broken gear shifter, and your SS hooks. LOL No disrespect bro! Maybe we could collectively purchase 1000 hooks and get them at dirt cheap prices.
