Headed out to meet my buddies who were waiting for me with shrimp at our spot down south in monroe county. Got there by 11 to an ebbing tide and started to fish. We were messing with one of my friends because he was thus far skunked while the other less experienced one had 3 small snook under his belt! Things looked good and we kept on fishing. I hooked up and up came a snooklet, maybe 19" nothing to write home about, he was safely released to fight another day, and proceeded to chew on my thumb as most of them do. I got another hit within a few minutes, she came up and was a decent slot fish, however was lost when I grabbed the leader, I got to fight her though so no issues there, self releasing fish are the best

The next bit of action was a double, they were both released unharmed and strong.
Finally my friends decided to leave, and that is when it went nuts. They left me with about 4-5 dozen recently dead shrimp (their pump ran out of battery) however, that did not seem to matter as I managed to hook about 11 more snook, only landing 4 of those, the smallest is in the pic at 38"! It just went NUTS like I have not seen since pre-freeze! I came close to getting spooled several times and got frayed off a few as well! Long story short, here are the pics! It was an amazing night, even though the temperature according to my car was hovering at 39 degrees!
The pics should provide a bit of comic relief, it is a hard earned spot and thus I rather it remain secret :wink
till next time, tight lines and merry Christmas!
