So scooped up my brother and headed down, almost all the way! The wind was blowing steady out of the E and the night was probably one of the chilliest ones I remember in the last couple months. Made it just at sundown and set up... Right away I heard tarpon poppin and started catching my usual regalia of just there snapper that seem to be never ending. Long story short, "limited" on govers, that is I caught em, but they went free... Most were a solid 14-15" with the biggest at around 18 or so, didnt feel like cleaning fish so they got a pass! However what was really cool is that toward the end I tied on a DOA shrimp and went tarpon jumping! i managed to jump 6 in total, I was stoked since its pretty much sight fishing, just at night by moon light in the shadow line! I was leading them by a couple feet and would just twitch as soon as it hit the water, they would slurp it in a hurry! Also got very lucky and caught my 5th snapper to date on a lure at night!
