Are spanish or cero mackeral doable from shore near Marathon

I catch them from shore or piers in many other parts of the state (on the mainland - both sides of the state), but never ran into them down in the middle keys (at least from shore - I have caught them from boats out there)...are they not that common from shore down there?

Both are commonly caught from all the deeper bridges down there. The Spainish tend to be from fall to spring and the ceros year round. Any bait in the area brings them in and keeps them around esp. ballyhoo.

I do better for them in the winter and early spring, but you can find them year round. White bucktails and Gotcha plugs are my go-to lures.
