going to channel 2 memorial day weekend enybody else?

Probably everybody else! If the weather is good the bridge will be packed. Leave as early as possible otherwise you could end up in one of the notorious Key's traffic jam's.

One of the 5 weekends you couldn't pay me to fish in the Keys. Make sure you pack some Xxanax or the chill pill of your choice. Expect bad traffic, crowded bridges, and moronic boaters and jet skiers to be zipping in and out of your lines along with those always courteous divers diving in your lines telling you about all the fish they just scared away from the area. I would travel as far south as you can if you want to have any chance of enjoying yourself.

That is a tough weekend.

But if your going with the Family and just planning on having a Family day with a little fishing and chilling it will be ok.

Just not a great weekend to do hardcore fishing in the keys

Same as everyone else said, I made that mistake of going down there once over Memorial Day weekend and it took about 7 hours to get to Miami from Ch 2 Monday night. If you are going, I would advise trying to get Tuesday off and head back north on Tuesday, traffic won't be as bad.

Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4 , mini season and opening season weekends esp. the last two.

From what Russ told me it is basically Fantasy Fest but without the women. It does sounds G A Y but he assures me it is not.

I do not care if GOD was going to make an appearance in the keys during memorial day weekend, you couldnt pay me enough to go down there that weekend!

Leave early or leave late that is how I have manged it in the past.

Do not go home between the hours of 11am and 7pm or the traffic will be terrible.

another way I deal with it is make pit stops on the journey

1. Stop somewhere and go for a swim
2. stop and have lunch
3. stop at the shell shop and let the little lady and kids look around and buy them a shell.
4. stop at some of the smaller bridges on your way back and have some live shrimp and fish them at these bridges, its a good way to waste time and most of the smaller bridges you can get out of the sun.
