Trolling out of Marathon 7mile bridge and out

Post by rshields »

Took a charter out of Marathon yesterday and trolled for Dolphin and other species.
Beautiful day no rain, water was the best and we spent the day on an 8 hour tour.
Report is short but I wanted to share, best time I have had in a long time on the water.

Rob, good trip, boats are not new or flashy but we had a 41' sea hawk for 8 hours and the cost was $700 with 6 people. It was big enough with lots of shade and fighting room. The Capt. did a great job running for dolphin. We wanted to stack up to a reef and get some bottom fishing in but ended up chasing a Marlin for an hour out to sea. For the price you can't complain- Bud and Mary's is almost twice the price but I think the boats are newer and there has to be something that makes it worth the extra cash. I'm thinking of heading down again next month and it will probably be on the Sea Dog again not the best and absolutely not the worst. Great Day......

Rick were you part of a split charter or did you have 5 other people?

Awesome pictures, Rick! Looks like everybody had a great time. Those fillets are gonna be very tasty, if they haven't been already! Nicely done, mate! :salut:
Those other fish must be smart. We caught all the stupid ones!

Had five other people for the trip. I was added by my neighbor, had his sister and husband and another couple with my neighbor and me. Lots of room tho.
