Introduction
Hello , stumbled on this site looking for info on places to wade around Islamorada. Seems like a great site ! I've been fly fishing and wading for stealhead the past twenty years , now I'm retired , and cold water and bad knees are a bad combination so I'll be travelling to the keys for a couple weeks in the fall and spring . Mainly fly fishing but I'll try some bridges. Any tips would be appreciated , Trial and error is a cruel teacher , not to mention a waste of time and I'm not getting any younger :

Hey bud, a quick and dirty little "cheat cheat" link will should at the very least let you see some fish, if not catch some.
http://diybonefishing.com/
This has everything I would tell you and then some. The best piece of advice I can give you is, if you strike out every time you go (possible during the time you are coming given that it is late in the season and the winds start affecting the fly fishing) then before you leave, using a spinning reel, simply buy some cut squid and fish it on the edge of a flat on an incoming tide (about an hour into it) You will get a bonefish this way. Good luck bud.

You're on the right track. If you dig in that website you'll find he talks about every single wade able flat down there. Good luck and POST a report!BigR wrote:Thanks , did squid in my youth , more interested in the experience than the fish , heard Annes Beach and Long Key are good places to start
