Ahoy ya Scalliwags

Post by saltydoug »

Been lurking for a bit while I've been relocating to Boynton Beach from NC. This is the first time in many years that I've been without a vessel and finding this forum has been a godsend. Thanks to the admin(s) for their efforts and to all you regulars for the invaluable tips, tricks and grins.

I've fished all my life, from catching sunfish in Keuka Lake to hunting big toothy critters far offshore. I lived in Ft Liquorjail from the mid-60s to mid-70s (I remember about 1/2 of it) and spent 18 years fishing and diving the wrecks and rigs of the northern gulf (from LA to FL). Now that's some fishncrack right there; 1000s of easy to find FADs and a low population density.

Will eventually get another powered boat but for now enjoying shore-bound fishing and am really looking forward to testing my mad skillz at offshore kayak fishing.

Tight lines and bent rods.

Indeed. Let us not waste our prayers on GK; but for the fish we will slay.

Thanks SaltyDog,

I am kinda concerned about the similarity of our usernames. I mean these guys can hardly keep the blues brothers straight.
I can only offer the advice from my ex (the 3rd one): "The only difference between Dog and Doug is you". I'm sure it was a compliment.

Hey dik......I just noticed the new signature line so I'm declaring a momentary truce between us. Congratulations...that is a major accomplishment in anyone's game. Although I'm confident you will probably do something bonehead and lose the license but for now I am very impressed. Didn't know you could read

Sorry Cap'n GK, I was needing a lead-in and that post/timing by fiveeight was some funny chit. I blame it on Gansta rap, Hot Chocolate and KotS. Apologies again and a hearty congrats on the Captains License.

First Sailfish? I'm gonna sport a leopard skinned thong just in case.
