Winter freshwater fishing.

Hey Ya'll
Been living and fishing in South Florida 12 years, till now its all been salt water and mainly fly fishing. Ive had lots of action of the beaches and in the intercostal. I'm now looking to get into the freshwater side of South Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale so have made a few trips out West to the area around Markham park. Its all very new to me and any information would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a very accomplished fisherman but complete novice to freshwater. I'm looking to catch anything and everything out there.
Some of the questions I have are.
Do the fish bite this time of year?
What lures or fly's to use?
Any good locations to recommend
Any other advice?
