Questions about the Juno Pier?

Post by Seeker »

Hi,

As some of you already know I'm planning a trip to Tequesta starting on May 11th thru June 6th... and I'm hoping to fish the Juno Pier at least half a dozen times while there.. It's been a lot of years since I fished the piers and I'm sure the rules have changed... I'm hoping you guy's can clear up a few thing for me...

I have a few questions about the Juno Pier and all that it offers..

I know you can't use a gaff anymore, so does the pier have bridge/pier nets available???

How many rods do they allow per person ?? Does a Sabiki rod count as a rod??

Is the Tackle shop at the Pier well stocked with things like, Gold hook rigs. ribbon and rings rigs, live shrimp, live shrimp buckets, cut bait, floating live baitwells, bridge nets .. and general tackle such as hooks, sinkers, line, leaders, lures, plugs, etc.??

Does the Pier Bait and Tackle shop carry Ice for coolers ??? (This one is very important to me)

Do they carry drinks, sandwiches, snacks, etc.??

thanks in advance,
Seeker

I am not familar with the no gaff rule, I use a gaff at most place if it is a fish I will keep.

The pier may have a net, it does from time to time, as long as it has been returned or better yet someone on the pier may have one and help you.

3 rods max this includes bait rod

Do not plan on buying most of what you want, the bait shop is limited.

No Live Shrimp

I do not believe they sell Coolers.

Matter of fact half of your list I do not think you will find at the pier bait shop.

They do have sodas and water and sell some so so Hot Dogs

Hi Boatless Fisherman,

Thanks for the information about the Pier Tackle Shop...

Maybe, I shouldn't have said "I know you can't use a gaff anymore"... I just assumed with all the regulations on fish size that a gaff would out.... I don't think I want to hurt a fish I wasn't going to keep and sometimes you don't know that, until after you've landed it.... And you have to get it up on the Pier for pictures...lol.... That was my reasoning anyway..... I didn't mean to give misleading information... sorry...

No live shrimp and not having a well stocked Bait and Tackle shop kind of surprizes me.... I will get most of what I want from another place...

Do they carry bags of "Ice" anywhere at the Pier??? ..... Do they sell "Ice" ????? ... LOL ... I need Ice... I want Ice... Got to have lots of Ice ....lol...lol...???????

How about cut bait... ballyhoo. Mullet, squid, etc. ????

Thanks.

Maybe I can help you, I fish Juno every weekend. They do sell ice, if the ice man delivered any, frozen bait (shrimp, squid, mullet), some tackle, but you would be well advised to get it elsewhere. The pier opens about 6:15-6:30 am
