BIGGEST CATCH OF MY YEAR

Oct.6 - Melbourne Beach

Man, I've been trying to get one of these all Fall. Hooked and lost a number of them, but, finally got mine today. And they said they couldn't be landed from the surf !

Fishing Coconut Point just at false dawn. Casting a Stetzko Needlefish when it hit! Four or five long runs then it just slugged it's way into the wash with several jumps. Then, another big run, away offshore, at least 200 yards !

Finally got it into the wash, slid it onto a wave, and landed it ! Don't know what it weighs yet, cause three shops have refused to let me bring it inside to weigh it. Just gotta keep trying cause, it's gotta be a record Asterisk Fish taken from the beach. The trunk of my car is beginning to stink. Maybe I should drive it over to IGFA to weigh it. Gotta find someone to weigh it or take it to the landfill.

Please don't tell the phone company.

Dude, ur right. I shouldve figured this one. Guess it was the whole "it made these long runs and leaped from the water..." part that threw me off.

Anychance youll be in the keys this weekend man? Im taking my dad down for the weekend so, Fri-Sat fish and Sat night-Sunday. Might be nice to have someone else tag along if youll be around.

When in the weekend? i work mon-sat 9-6. If its sat night, then Im in, itd be nice if ya can scoop me up on the way down... we can even stop and do an hour or two of snookin in my lil honey hole, bring the bug spray thou. PM me ur cell, ill hit u up.
