Oct. 6 Out Of P.E.

We left the port around 7AM and headed a few miles out. Trolled for an hour or so before we got a strike. Hooked up with a double-header of dolphin. I lost mine, but my friend landed a nice little bull. A little while later, hooked up again. This time I landed a decent cow. Then we hooked into another double header but lost them both.

Then, things got more interesting. I got a hookup again, and I reeled it most of the way in. Assuming it was another mahi, I left it in the water so the other dude could pitch a bait. I remember seeing how dark the fish was and thinking that was strange for a dolphin. I looked closer and noticed it was a small wahoo. My first. So I reeled it up to the boat, and right as my buddy went to grab it, off the hook it went. I was pissed.

So, we circled around for another pass. Within a couple minutes, my rod goes off again. I set the hook and the drag starts peeling off. We both looked at each other and said "wahoo." This time, I landed it. Wasn't very big, but I was still hella excited. Circled around again, and he hooked up on a slightly bigger 'hoo. Also his first.

All in all, a great day me thinks.

LOL yeah, that's the other guys dog. He has a thing for fish slime.
