Flamingo scorcher8-12

Well, I got a late start, arrived at Flamingo just before 7am. Couple of trucks with bed extenders so I figure Kneedeep and maybe Tom are out some where. Having met kneedeep on a previuos trip, I figure he was there at the crack of midnite. 
A quick scan and not a yak to be seen so I head towards Bradley. The tide seemed strange and the water was very dirty.
My super secret Wally World softbait just wasn't getting me any hook-ups so I headed toward the flats I have named shark. On the way, I passed massive areas of weed that weren't there last week.
Nearing shark flats there was tons of bait acting nervous so I broke out the fly rod. I guess I have to learn to set a hook by hand, not using the noodlerod. Sure glad no one was around to see that fiasco. Out comes the WW secret weapon, and second cast produces a barely legal red. This was to be the only fish that was f&r. Almost didn't make it to the SW edge of Joe Kemp for the 9:25 toast and my second beverage.
At the channel north of Kemp the tarpon were loaded up. This is where I meet Tom and Kneedeep. All poons, from babies to monsters were in the area. There was a gator that eyed every hook-up and I had it hit at my jerk bait. Several tarpon were jumped by me and the other derelicts.
Tom and kneedeep decided to head back, I think there were fish to ice down and beers to polish off. I fished another couple hours till I got bored of jumping the poons.
Another great day on the water even if it was or seemed to be 110 degrees with little cloud cover.
The Wally World lures have now scored..trout, tarpon, snook, all kinds of jacks and a lady fish or two and almost a gator. NO slimey seakitties!
