anything thats about 1/2 a mile from the beach? like macs, snook, tarpon, trout mojorly

Macks, blues, kings you can troll anything shiny and metal. Shallow patch reefs troll x-rap type plugs near the bottom for above species plus grouper. Trout on inshore flats, you can troll soft plastics or plugs on jig heads. Snook are too close to the beach to troll for as you'd need to be in the surf zone. outside that, you can troll plastics or plugs for tarpon. What area of FL are you fishing?

mostly miami but also do biscayne and keys next to ch.5

Ok, I like slow trolling live bait like mullet for tarpon off the beach or the bay. try popping corks and shrimp/pinfish/pilchards for trout. I haven't trolled for snook, but i'm sure it can be done in the ICW or around dock lights.
