My long awaited vacation has come to an end, spend three weeks
in the USA roaming the beaches of Collier and Lee county down in
Florida.
Weather was not always picture perfect and I had some iffy moments
when I was caught up in a nasty thunderstorm down at the beach
but I am happy to report that the lightning and the sharks did not get me.
Here the results of three weeks on the beach.

The first time I fished those Gulf beaches I caught
exactly one fish, a small jack.

But ... I have been back many times and learned over
the years where to go and what to look for.
Spend some quality time on the beach and now I usually
catch some fish when I am on the beach.

Still I get plenty of refusals from the snook on the beach
Might be coming back next year, had a great time down
there and it is surely a wonderfull place.

Those are some great pics you have there. Nice gear too, looks like you went in style.
The first spanish pic was my fav. You had a coconut palm in your 2nd pic. It is one of the most iconic things we have in our state, yet our state government is trying to make them illegal in many places. Of course the sable is our state tree and is why you see them all over the place while on the interstate. My personal favorite is the bald cypress.

Anybody got a blue shad culprit worm?

very nice. Must be a lot of fun on that flyrod. I use an ultra-lite rod which is a lot of fun also. When you get a big one it makes it even more special.

amazing pictures, just curious what kind of camera you are using?

Great pics. What weight fly rod were you using? I have heard you need a 7 weight, but my 5 looks like it could handle those.
