Went out 10/24 Tue to the Haulover Jetty, saw a huge mullet run and what appeared to be a big shark feeding on it!!! The wind was extreeme coming from the NW So it was hard to cast as far as I wanted. It was extreemly exciting however, I caught nothing. Probably because I'm a newbie to fishing. I was using a 1 foot mullet as bait and I tryed to cast it right in front of the mullet explosions. That didn't work so I cut my bait in half hoping that the blood would get the attention of the shark. I was there all day and caught nothing, yet I still had fun because that was the first time I have seen the mullet migrate. Oh and thanks for the info on the mullet run on the homepage webmaster!!! It helped me to better understand how fortunate I am to get addicted to fishing at this time of year.Respect, Nikodon

next time instead of cutting your bait in half try slitting its sides and poking out its eyes now instead of just blood trying to attract the shark there is blood and a very stressed out fish swimming very crazy which sends out vibrations and stress signals that sharks can detect from a mile away

To tell you the truth, Haulover Jetty is a place where you MUST fish during the tide change. The reason being is that the current, most of the time, is so swift and if you're not free lining you will lose ALL of your bottom rigs...I speak from experience.
