Spinning reels

I recently got involved in surf/salt water fishing and for my first adventure i went out and bought some cheap gear. I bought 2 10' rods that seem to be ok, i think they say pole verisor or something on them ha ha. and i put 2 okuma chaser spinning reels on them. I did this because i wanted to see if it was something i was going to enjoy doing. So now that I found out that it is something I really enjoy i'd like some advice on some spinning reels you might reccomend. I'm looking for something to put on a 12ft spinnin rod hopefully. I don't want to spend a fortune on these reels but would like something that is of good quality and with a good drag and line capacity.

I purchased a penn 535 GS for a big fish rod and found it was hard to cast with a shark rig, kinda made me mad because i was using a 5oz egg sinker with a 6 foot wire leader and couldnt reel the leader up in my eyes, so it was very awkward to throw a big bait. Ahhh well advice maybe? THanks

i've been doing some thinking on my surf gear since i made my post, just wanting you guys to wade in and help me out here.

I purchased that 535GS and to be perfectly honest I'm not real crazy about it. On the surf I found that it was harder for me to cast and I don't really care for the non-level wind feature. I am thinking that I'd like to possibly trade it for a good spinning reel. I'd like it to be a little heavier than the ones on my regular surf rods, hopefully capable of handling 6 foot sharks.

Here in KY where i'm at people laugh at people for using spinning reels, and now i see they do have a place in my tackle box as well. I like how you can just put full power into a cast and not worry about nothing at all.. I love it, what you guys think I might get out of the new 535GS and does anyone have a good spinner they might trade. The 535 may have made 15 casts. Thanks for your time

I just bought a quantum bluerunner for around 50 bucks to use for shark fishing. Haven't really put it to the test but, the guys @ the bait shop recommended it to me. I also heard the Boca is a very good reel. They actually recommended it over this years Stradics. That should tell you something. thanks for the link, sure is a nice looking reel.. Sure like to have a couple of those on my surf rods. I think I've pretty much decided to sell the stuff I started out with and go for some better gear. Rod and reel reccomendations are appreciated. What would be good surf rods in the mid price range?!?!
