Moving to Hollywood Beach!!! Surf fishing?
Hey guys, I just moved into the hollywood beach area, its a condo a couple buildings away from the Westin Diplomat. Just wondering if theres any good fishing around here. Any close bait n tackles near by, is surf fishing popular around here. I'm in the middle of the ocean and the intercoastal if that means anything. Looking to catch whatever I can get my hands on. Please any gurus out there that can put me in the right direction please reply

the surf fishing is decent, depending on what is migrating. I have seen guys catching pompano and bluefish from the surf over by the broadwalk. You just have to fish before the lifeguards come out and a weekday is best, less people walking on the beach.

Check out the port everglades thread for info on John Lloyd park (south jetty). For surf fishing I love the beach just north of the port. If you can find a place to park, that section of beach doesn't get very crowded - and you can fish anytime, no lifeguards. I'm sure Hollywood beach will work for you as its more convenient, but those other 2 spots are worth the short drive. Good luck
