Ft Lauderdale fishing over Memorial Day

Hey guys, this is my first post! I will be in the area and want to fish everyday if possible (5 day trip). 2 years ago I caught a huge Jack from the beach on an altered kastmaster and I have wanted a "redux" ever since. I was also there last year but didn't land a single fish
Anyhow, I believe I read on this site that Ft. Lauderdale might not be the optimal place for surf fishing- especially on Memorial day weekend. I also want to fish Anglin's pier again.
So, where might one go for some surf fishing action? Not looking for map coordinates, just general info.
Thanks guys!
Brian

Any of the piers, but you said it yourself it's Memorial Day and fishing from the beach is gonna be near impossible but if surf fishing is what you want find a jetty on one of the inlets and fish the beach side with a tall rod for optimal cast distance. That will be the closest you can get to the surf without being on the beach on the most hellish weekend of the year.

The beach is definitely going to be crowded but the pier might be as well. If you are interested in the pier though I know you can catch amber jack at the end of the pier with live bait among other things

Beach inside John Lloyd will be fishable from the surf. Stretches on that beach are always desolate.

Get there early as soon as the park opens.
