Ft Lauderdale visit 1-2013

Post by phil64 »

I'll be visiting Ft Lauderdale this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips as to what is around this time of year. I was planning on fishing from the beach, but after reading the forum it seems I'll have to fish early and late. Plan on staying in Hollywood area - do all the beaches there have life guards or are here some stretches where you can fish all day.

Any tips and or help would be greatly appreciated - Coming down from NY only for a few days, so I would really like to make the most of what little fishing time I have.

Thanks and tight lines,

Phil

Thanks for the reply. Are there life guards on duty there or can we fish anytime? Also what kind of bait should we be using? Up here in NY clam will catch anything. I read somewhere it's like the potato chip of the sea, fish just can't help themselves.

Any and all inf would be great.

Dania beach north of the pier like was said. Its also considered john u lloyd state park. There are no lifeguards there but depending on which days and what time of day you'll still have to deal with the bathers and beach goers

Yeah, South side has lifeguards, North side 300' past the pier is open beach. Bathers stay to the south for the most part but there can be the random bather. Just ask ef they saw that shark that just went by, you'll be fine. :biglaugh:

There is a fine line between Love & Hate.Hate is pushing them off a ledge. Loving them means you don't taunt them after you've pushed them off.
