Storm fishing- What are your thoughts?
Storm fishing
Hey guys, I'm new to the sight and relatively new to fishing ..comparing to the rest of youse hah. So I'm wondering, what are your thoughts on fishing during storms like this one? I've heard many different opinions..wanting to see what boatless fishermen think
-keep calm and fish.

Keep the graphite rods at home during any thunderstorm.

Other than hitting the spillways as they open I'd wait.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Re: Storm fishing- What are your thoughts?
I fished this morning at Anglins and caught Bluefish and jacks and saw a bunch of Ribbon fish get caught, it was rough but the water was not mud so it was fishable.
I don't know about tomorrow. Will probably be mud and alot of fish that go Meow

I woke up early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so went to the spillway near me...lost one huge fish on a big swimbait, couldn't slow him on an 8000 size reel with 50 lb braid.

Ouch! Thats the kind of fish that'll stay on your mind for a while. I hate when those big mystery fish get away.PhishingPhanatic wrote:I woke up early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so went to the spillway near me...lost one huge fish on a big swimbait, couldn't slow him on an 8000 size reel with 50 lb braid.

Scope out the intercoastal waterway. All those snook that were on the beach during the summer should be working their way back inland to warmer water. Free line live shimp against current under bridges, or work lures/jigs parallel to the bridge's shadow line.clarence2society wrote:anybody know a good place tp fish for snook in the pompano ar4ea? i live right behind bait n tackle i am dyin to catch some snook. i have caught one my whole life. its my turn damn it...spillways bridges whatever

If there's current there's fish. Looks are always deceiving. Just because you don't see fish busting bait on the surface, doesn't mean the fish aren't there.

Went to the key biscayne bridge for the heck of it and caught 3 small Spanish Macks with my Gotcha plug. It was very surprising and a good time
