Fishermen Party Dania Pier 1st anniversary

I fish Dania 95% of the time and the only reason i knew is b/c i went that sunday and i found out when i was already at the T fishing for an hour...one of my regular fishing buddies told me about it...there were other fisherman there since 9 am and they didn't know about it...if it was posted it wasn't meant to be seen very easily....i think i could've been told when i was paying for parking and fishing also but i didn't hear a word...anyway i left at 5:30pm before it started.....

True story man. Tommy you deserve all the praise in the world for what you do here.

I fish two piers and thats for the same reasons others have mentioned above, good people and good fishing. This guy is giving dania a bad rap.

This site is a mecca to shorebound anglers in south florida and beyond. Tommy, is an incredible person for putting this all together. More and more as I fish the piers bridges beaches and jetties, do I find boatlessfishing anglers. I make it a point to ask everyone I meet if they have heard about it because of what the site has to offer.

If the guy at dania isnt smart enough to realize what we represent as a group, he definitely deserves the boot. We need people on here that contribute for the greater good of the group. Not those individuals that are going USE this site for their benefit only.

You may not know it now ben-
We are the people who keep things in line at the pier. Without us, you got just you and your crappy staff, who must be pretty dumb to not quit.
Keeping your customers happy IS YOUR JOB. Do you plan to make all your buissnes on people who come for one day and leave? Some of us, me included, still fish it. We try to help even though we could spend our time MUCH better.
If you care, you will be out there talking to us sunday and then we will talk to every one else.

I was going to let it go but the day he tried to tow my car, well, he directly targeted me. Even after his wife was told that I just spent money in his bar, he still insisted on having my car towed. But the kicker was how he described the expired Hollywood Parking sticker in my window, along with a fishing/parking pass from days earlier, AND, an expired meter pass from 1 hour prior that day. And the friggin lot was empty.

I had a banner planned but my advertising guy had to leave the country. I now have a new one.

even if i saw the post for free food i wouldnt have went there

i love anglins love the site and just dont have enough time and money to be a regular but love the post earlier about the lynch mob and im in also lol

The sign was clearly posted. I saw it 10 days ahead of time up at the entrance. Some of you probably didn't deserve anything anyways from what I have read. The pier does fine. It has plenty of business, and will continue, no matter who bashes it constantly. Many of you sit here and whine and complain, so don't go then. Easier to do then sound like little girls. This guy has gone out of his way to try and repair some things and add more, along with the city, as they are responsible for the pier also. I go to all piers, and Dania does just as much as every other pier. Nothing is perfect anywhere, no matter what anyone says.
If you do not like a certain pier, just don't go there. Some of you talk the crap, and still go, so obviously you are not ballsy enough to back your words.

Not kiss your a**. If you do not like it there, don't go. I know who some of you are, and I have seen you on dania. Even after you have whined that you will not go there again. Once again, there was a sign "clearly" posted because I saw it myself. It is probably better some of you did not see it. Surely none of you would even have said thank you to the bosses afterwards. That is just how some of you people are. You have shown that in this forum.

Let this be known ill never go to your pier again. Why waist 3 bucks and gas money on some clown who shows no respect for a customer.

Oh and i find it hilarious that although its a fishing pier we cant park anywhere near it due to resturant restrictions.

Nope. I do not know the guy personally, am not a friend of his, nor do I have personal interest in anything else about the piers other than just going out there and fishing, no matter what obstacles there are. I make my choice to go where I want to fish, and deal with it. Why would you expect anyone to stand there and let you throw rocks at them over and over, then expect that person to bow to you about anything? Use some common sense. All anyone does in here is criticize every time anything happens at that pier. What is the point. Maybe the restaurant will start accepting the regulars to order food if they choose thru a takeout window off the patio.
That is about all I would care to see out there. Having the option is enough.

Curious as to who you are?

Search my posts and read them carefully. I originally offered not only advice, but also my help (labor), personal time, tools, and knowledge to fix things that certainly needed to be addressed. Some of these had a serious health threat.

So what did that get me? Personal attacks from Ben, Excuses and lies about what can or cannot be done. An attitude that he really could give a flying F*** about the fisherman. An attempt to tow my car when the lot was empty and he knew just exactly who`s car it was.

He IS the PIER NAZI, PARKING LOT NAZI, and just plain a negative, non`caring individual.

I was about to let this all go but something needs to be done with this. I will be talking to the City Assistant Manager again this week, to file a formal complaint against Ben.

BTW, I have nothing against any of the persnonel that work at the pier, just a big chip against Ben.

Maddy does a fine job. Even Sal keeps an eye out, and trys to help when he can (he made the original bait cutting tables).

But when someone speaks up against Ben, and I here that they aren`t wanted at the pier, well, I`m sure Colin Donelley would like to know about it. Bens words are here in print. Do you speak for them.

I wish the pier to do well but obviously Ben does not. His restaurant buisness, I will never step foot in, will always deter anyone who asks about it, and speak ill of the management.

The pier belongs to the City of Dania, not for Ben`s so-called high pollutin` customers.

This so-called "Fishermans Party" was a joke, no wait, an insult to those who really care about the pier.

Ben, I stopped by the pier last week and it looks great. The benches are placed right and comfortable. The shade hut looks to be in the best spot.

Some questions and advice.

Questions.
1.) Is the parking for pier fisherman payable at the hut and they can use any space marked restaurant parking? Is it for them only or can anyone purchase the metered slip and park in those areas as well?

2.) Cutting boards, are those that are there temporary? They don`t look too sturdy and won`t last.

Advice.
1.) Remove the filet table from near the hut and place closer to the bait shack. Most regulated fish need to landed in WHOLE condition and having the cleaning station closer to the bait shack allows your employees an opportunity to keep an eye on things. Having a wash down hose nearby will allow the table to be kept clean.

2.) I can help with placement of, construction, and design of bait prep stations if need be. I`ll do this for free. I have all necessary tools. And the top material can be purchased cheaply at mcmaster.com (HPLV Plastic boarding material)

3.) There needs to be a few saltwater/livewells installed so fisherman can keep bait alive. I recommend an 8 bucket live well station behind the bench on the tee, and maybe two, 4 bucket bait stations place proprotionately towards the bait shack.

Anyhoos, I see the place shaping up and being a nice place to fish, bring the family, or even a date. Good luck in your endevours, Brady Mitchell

See, your problem is that you think you are somebody that has a say. You even act that way when certain people aren't around. If I were Ben, I'd bar you from the pier. You are bad element. The way you throw threats around, who you kidding. You got towed. Guess you should have paid better attention to your car and stop blaming others. Things are done on the pier, you complain. I will also be sure to let Sal know how you thought his work was such crap. The pier didn't want your help. So you have a tantrum like a little girl instead of just going on your merry own way and fish. Do not put on some act. I know who you are.
Back to the subject, people didn't know about a party. S**t happens. As I said, don't go there if you do not like it. It will "always" have its fare share of the customers.

Now Zebco I know your statements where not directed at anything I said because the statements I made where to do with the way he has used and not given back to this site and has ask for and ask for and has not once replied to any of my emails, that is rude.

If you read the posts than you know that he has given grief as much as those that gave it to him and he seems to like the back and forth crap, there where many times he could have just kept quiet and let things simmer down but no he had to have a say and even sometimes they sounded as though he was insulting those people " that may have been the language Gap I don't know".

I as you must know, have not said anything in any negative way against Dania pier, if anything this site receives over 500 hits from search engines a month for the restaurant alone and they find its info and still do, I could have removed it or say what ever I want if it is true. Many things that are true do not sound good.
I in no way want to see any part of that business or any shorebound Business hurt, but in this situation I think there are many Dania Pier folks here that don't complain and deserved better than how that deal played out and that is why I spoke my mind in this situation, I believe it was a ploy and he wanted it played out here and I am not with that.

That Mr Bug stuff is some funny stuff, don't take offense to that Gotants LOL it will achieve a much better out come.

Please though Zebco try not to be so antagonistic I think what you say will be heard better if you are not so fire up, it is very apparent that you like it and you are trying to get a rise. LOL
