p/e jetty

Post by Backwoods123 »

fished the jetty the other night into the morning caught a 3 nice mangroves and 1 surprise dog snapper... smallest was 15 inches and the biggest was a mangrove a tiny sand spec under 21 inches lol... i personal best off the jetty so far but i know there are bigger ones out there..... but the real highlight of the night was when a guy snook fishing on a boat was real close to rock on the beach side and the guy on the jetty started throwing weights at him... they argued and things cooled down... about an hour later the guy from the boat comes out on the jetty and beat the living s**t out of the guy :rambo: lol it was funny but guy was badly beaten... the guy had a gun on his belt in a holster, glad it didnt get out of hand to the point someone got shot...

will post pics of fish later

8) Dog Snapper aren't a surprise. I have caught them there all the way back to many bridges. Biggest around 8 lbs. There are big snapper to be had. Just takes time and a little luck.

Welcome! The park is John U Loyd state park, located at the East end of Dania beach blvd in Hollywood. The jetty is at the north end, beach side of the park. Not sure about the fee's.
Nice Boat! Now get it outa my driveway!

Fished for the outgoing there today. Plenty of bait to be found. Sabiki'd up some bait and freelined it out there.

Saw one guy pull up a small snook. Right after that I got hammered and something broke me off on the rocks. Retied w/heavier leader and as soon as a fresh bait hit the water I saw the culprit barracuda some up and take the bait. Set the hook and he was off. Landed him, probably the biggest cuda I've caught yet. They were out in full force.

Other than that no eatin fish to be seen.

The jetty was trashed. One huge pile of cut up bait rotting with flies all over it, smashed up bait all over, empty water/beer bottles and bunches of line all over.

Been hoping to get on some snapper but I think the more attention this place gets on that topic the worse it gets. Kind of wish there was a private part of the forum where only well-known members of the forum could post, people who have contributed significantly w/reports and what not. Still probably wouldn't help. Anyway I'll probably try back at night sometime.

Yeah, posting every fish you catch there, will lead to a spot's demise for sure!
