That would be a challenge... Even if I used 200 lb mono and tripple wrapped on em, I'd get flipped or my arm torn off. I think it's probably for the best that I don't know where any goliaths live.

So far I've gotten trout, snook, mangroves, tarpon and a decent blacktip. Maybe I could try for a manatee, lol

I have seen the old man in the keys with the permit on a yo yo , the same guy was catching bull sharks one night , he had a big wooden Yoyo, gloves, and wearing a welding vest. He would press the yoyo against his vest and use it as a drag... He landed 2 bulls between 150-200 lbs, very impressive. DO IT POSEIDON
Did he have like 5 to 8 yoyo lined up on the rail with some little flags on them?

Saw a gut down there once that fits that description pretty much. Dude was going at it big time fighting a large ray. I just saw that yoyo spinning like real fast as was like ouch

I've thought about taking paracord and double wrap on some bulls and not give them an inch. that"s how it'd go with a goliath too. It's more challenging to use lighter mono where you are forced to play the fish.

Kingfish are weak. I am yet to be impressed by any fight with a king. Bonita a third their size put up a better fight.

A wahoo would be sick. They run so fast that I'm sure I would accidentally put too much drag on em and pop them off.

Stay tuned, putting live gogs out on the yoyo offshore will surely pay off one of these days. I just wish I had more chances to get offshore with good conditions. Hate these flat seas.

Not to thread crap here but wtf does it matter trolling or bottom fishing in a yoyo? People have managed gigantic tunas on hand line years ago. Hell I've seen vertical jigging on yoyo from the kayak. If you troll a gog long enough on a yoyo a sail will eat it to the point it can't escape and its a matter of letting him drag you around until he's done.

I wasn't trying to pose a challenge but I have a kayak and free time and $7 for a yoyo so if somebody wants to see some yoyo fish I'm sure I can abide.

This came back to life huh? The only thing I really wanna catch on it is a sailfish. I'll probably just tarpon and snook fish with it until the sails start running in the winter.

Thanks for the offer Phil, I'll get back to ya if I decide to take you up on that.

GK, the guys who buoy fish hand line them in, but daytiming?!?! That's nuts. I've seen pics of everything supposedly caught on a handline, but not a sword.

That would get a million hits if whoever finds my dead body uploads the video from the still attached GoPro... I'll drown for sure if I try it.
